Workshops

Welcome to the web-based collaboration area for the development of projects in deliberative democracy.

The projects described here are being funded by small grants from the Deliberative Democracy Consortium, using funds from a grant from The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation. DDC is presently on its second round of small grants. The 2004 Research Projects are still evolving; interim results were presented at the 2005 Research and Practice conference.

The June conference led to a new list of potential 2005 Research Projects, for which proposals are now being developed. This Web site can be used by teams during development, as well as later, during project review.

Using this Wiki

This is a Wiki Web site - a set of Web pages that any registered user is allowed to edit. Thus a Wiki provides a platform for collaboration over the Internet. On this site you can make comments in the text of the proposals or separately. This involves three basic steps: Edit/Preview/Save. You click the Edit tab at the top of any page (like the one above), type in your text, preview and save. More detailed information is given on the "Help" page - use the link in the navigation panel at left.

Your questions or comments about the Web site are very welcome! Please send them by e-mail to info@wiki.info-ren.org.

Development of Proposals and Submission Deadlines

  • Please follow the 2005 proposal template (also available on your project page) in developing your proposal.
  • Draft proposals are due Friday, August 12. Drafts should be posted on the Wiki to allow for comments by members of the R&P network.
  • Final proposals are due by Friday, September 9. The full proposal, including all information detailed in the 2005 proposal template, should be submitted via the Wiki or by e-mail to tgonzalez@deliberative-democracy.net.
  • The Deliberative Democracy Consortium Steering Committee will announce the proposals selected for funding by September 30.
