[edit]
Goals
The ODDC seeks to help the Deliberative Democracy Consortium (DDC) by:
- Assisting in the development and use of Internet Technologies for consortium communication, both internal and external
- Advising the consortium on how to capture the benefits and avoid the pitfalls of these technologies in large-scale deliberations
- Identifying core features of a national infrastructure, and an outreach strategy to integrate these elements into existing deliberative efforts
- Expanding the visibility, versatility, and use of deliberative-democracy.net
- Communicating the aims, accomplishments, and issues represented by the consortium within and beyond its network
- Establishing and maintain a robust internet presence, including an html e-newsletter, library, and links
- Growing the consortium by recruiting others who are interested in deliberation through the technology angle
- Fostering better communication between deliberation folks that are technologists and non-technologists
