Purpose

The purpose of this second round of mapping investigations is three-fold:

• Complete existing, “incomplete” cases
• Collect more cases from parts of the world where existing data has gaps
• Bring the data fully online, to make it available to others in a useful way

Strategy

To accomplish its aims, the mapping project will work as a distributed team to inject data collection tools into various streams of practice around the world, notably the geographic areas of China, Southeast Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.

• The team will also work to complete cases from their own geography and/or networks.
• To analyze the data, the mapping team will hire a contract researcher.
• The mapping team will further develop its plan to compile, communicate, and share its findings and data.

Activities

During the next seven months, the mapping team will carryout the following activities:

1. Streamline the existing collection instrument, integrating feedback from round one.
2. Translate the instrument into at least one language, possibly two (Spanish and French)
3. Share the instrument with networks at large (MS Word)
4. Provide resources for people to make hard contacts, follow-up with incompletes
5. Hire a graduate-level researcher to assist with data analysis
6. Analyze data for

• high level findings and
• a collection of compelling case examples

1. Enter cases, top-line summaries, and data tables to the web
