Deliberative Democracy Consortium
Welcome to the Deliberative Democracy Consortium (DDC) Wiki!
This Web site will be used to coordinate and support the activities of the Consortium. The work of the Consortium is carried out by several workgroups and other committees, including:
- DG - Democratic Governance. The DDC recently held its first Learning Exchange with the Democratic Governance Panel of the National League of Cities.
- KB - Knowledge Building. This Task Force has organized three Researcher and Practitioner (R&P) Workshops. A summary report, Where is Democracy Headed? Four Years of DDC Research and Practice, is currently open for your comments and proposed additions. As part of the 2007 R&P meeting, the Task Force organized a larger session called "Where is Democracy Headed? Developing a research agenda that charts the changes and supports the innovators." The notes from that discussion, which involved a diverse group of 80 leaders, are now available and open for your comments.
- ODDC - Online Deliberative Democracy Consortium. Current projects include the development of regional meetings, on the model of our Deepening Online Deliberation meeting in St. Paul in June of 2005.
- IMP - The International Mapping Project carried out an ongoing survey of practices related to deliberative and inclusionary processes throughout the world.
Your ideas are welcome! Use the "discussion" tab at the top of any page to comment on the current site and to make suggestions for material to be added.
